The 134th Canton Fair is scheduled to be held on October 15, 2023. This exhibition is divided into three phases: the first phase: October 15-19, 2023; the second phase: October 23-27, 2023; the third phase: October 31-November 4, 2023.
The first phase: consumer electronics and information products, household appliances, machinery, power and electrical equipment, processing machinery and equipment, engineering machinery, electronic and electrical products, hardware, etc.; the second phase: daily ceramics, household products, kitchenware, weaving and rattan crafts, home decorations, holiday supplies, gifts and premiums, glass crafts, craft ceramics, watches and glasses, construction and decoration materials, bathroom equipment, furniture, etc.; the third phase: home textiles, textile raw materials and fabrics, carpets and tapestries, fur, leather, clothing decorations and accessories, men's and women's clothing, underwear, sportswear and casual wear, food, sports and travel leisure products, luggage, medicine, health care products and medical equipment, pet products, toys, children's clothing, maternity and infant products, etc.
On September 28, the State Council Information Office held a press conference. At the press conference, Vice Minister of Commerce Guo Tingting, Vice Governor of the Guangdong Provincial People's Government Zhang Xin, and relevant persons in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Civil Aviation Administration of China introduced relevant situations of the 134th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair). This Canton Fair presents many new changes and new highlights.
Larger exhibition area. An increase of 50,000 square meters compared with the previous session, bringing the total area of the third phase to 1.55 million square meters. The number of exhibition areas has been increased to 55, and exhibition themes such as new energy vehicles and smart travel, new materials and chemical products have been expanded accordingly. It also moved two exhibition areas for building materials and sanitary ware from the first phase to the second phase, and moved five exhibition areas including toys, maternity, infant and child products from the second phase to the third phase. These measures are all aimed at improving the level of professionalism.
More and better quality exhibitors. Over 4,900 companies participated in this Canton Fair for the first time. Among the exhibitors, there are about 4,600 high-quality companies with titles such as "little giants" and national high-tech enterprises. The exhibit structure was further optimized, and there were more than 200 new product debut events. Exhibitors brought about 680,000 new exhibits, of which about 100,000 were high-tech, high-value-added new exhibits such as new energy and industrial automation.
More convenient for buyers to attend the meeting. Extensive investment promotion has been carried out through 224 Chinese embassy and consulate business institutions abroad, 67 foreign consulates general in Guangzhou, and 189 Canton Fair global partners.
More optimized service guarantee. A total of 237 certificate application points were set up in exhibition halls, hotels and airports, an increase of 140 compared with the previous session. Starting from October 12, on-site 24-hour certificate processing will begin, allowing overseas buyers to apply for certificates conveniently as soon as they get off the plane and arrive at the hotel. Increase subway and bus transportation capacity, improve emergency traffic measures, and add guidance signs to make the travel of exhibitors and merchants smoother.
More accurate Online docking. The Canton Fair has improved 101 functions of the online platform to facilitate exhibitors to check purchasing intentions, highlight the characteristics of exhibits, and add industry attribute parameters to facilitate online search by buyers. To achieve linkage with offline exhibitions, buyers will be organized to conduct online pre-docking and pre-matching before the exhibition to improve the efficiency of docking between suppliers and buyers and better promote transactions.
More supporting activities. The 134th Canton Fair will hold two professional forums on green trade and trade digitalization, five industry forums on electronic home appliances and medical equipment, and more than 10 "Trade Bridge" trade promotion activities. The Canton Fair Design Innovation Award will continue to be held, and the number of award-winning products in 2023 will reach 141. A special trade service area has also been set up, inviting more than 200 organizations from logistics and warehousing, financial services, testing and certification to participate in the exhibition.
